Corrections and Clarifications

K.P. Krishnan is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, as given in the text of a report “New mechanism likely to regulate VCs, PEs” (“Business” page, August 7, 2008). The caption of the accompanying photograph in the report gave it incorrectly as Finance Secretary.

The fifth paragraph of a report “IPS officers feel discriminated” (August 6, 2008) gave the expansion of ITBP as the Indo-Tibetan Police Force. It should have been the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (force).

The strapline of a report “Magsaysay for Amte couple serving tribal people” (“Newscape” page, August 1, 2008) was “Philippine group announces the 2008 awardees, including Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan achievers”. It was an error. The Board of Trustees of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF) has announced that this year, seven individuals and one organisation — from India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand — will get the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
