Nedumbassery: The Cochin Duty Free (CDF), a cluster of duty-free shops, has launched ‘Shopping Carnival 2008’ at Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) here. The event, being organised jointly by CIAL, the Federal Bank and Hyundai Motors, is aimed at enhancing the shopping experience of international passengers from the airport, a press release issued here on Thursday said. The three-month event is planned from August every year. Passengers who purchase articles from the CDF will be participants in a contest which offers a Hyundai car to the winner. Two lucky winners will drive home i10 cars in August and October respectively and the winner in September will get a Hyundai Verna. The scheme was officially launched by Dr. C.G. Krishnadas Nair in a ceremony presided over by Federal Bank executive director P.R. Kalyanaraman. Hyundai Motors senior general manager Y.S. Kim airport director A.C.K. Nair and Customs Assistant Commissioner C.C. Jacob were present.
