HYDERABAD: Chilukuri Amara Varaprasad, a commerce graduate from Machilipatnam, has claimed to have developed a script for Lambadi speaking tribal population which was so far denied of such a facility.
Mr. Varaprasad said that he developed the script using alphabets of English like French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Use of phonetics
He made use of phonetics to transcribe the letters.
A total of 46 phones and four other helping phones to fit into the accent were developed from the 26 letters of English. Mr. Varaprasad, a non-tribal, nurses an avocation in concentrating on phones and scripting languages to a degree of accuracy. He had prepared in the past similar scripts for Koya, Konkani, Gondi and Tulu languages.
He proposes to promote the script with the help of Banjara Language Development Association headed by Banoth Rukmini Naik.
