BJP plans countrywide stir
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to expand its Jammu agitation on the Amarnath issue to the rest of the country with plans for demonstration and courting arrest by its workers and leaders in all state capitals for three days from August 11.
Making this announcement here on Thursday, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that for three days there will be “daily batches of workers” courting arrest.
Commenting on the outcome of Wednesday’s all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the situation, Mr. Javadekar advised the government to go for a dialogue with the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti “with an open heart and mind” and with a “readiness to correct earlier mistakes.”
