Exhibition on childhood obesity

COIMBATORE: GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School will organise an exhibition and project on “obesity among school children” from August 12 to 15.

According to a release, D.Srinivasan, Chief of Psychiatry, Kovai medical Center and Hospital will deliver the keynote address. R.Rajendran, Financial Office, Lakshmi Machine Works, Limited will inaugurate the exhibition.

Dr.Arivalagan, physician and diabetologist, will address students on ‘how to keep fit’ on August 12. An orientation programme on ‘child health issues’ will be organised for parents by D.K.Neminathan, consultant paediatrician, Coimbatore Child Trust on August 13.

Students from various schools in and around Perianaickenpalayam will be invited to visit the exhibition on August 14.

Various competitions such as slogan-writing, drawing, quiz and skit will also be organised.

M.N.G.Mani, Secretary General of International Council for Education of Visually Impaired, will hoist the tricolour on August 15 at the valedictory function.

He will also distribute prizes to winners of the competitions.
