Drive against violations

Coimbatore: The City Police conducted a drive against road rule violations by booking cases against vehicles that plied without permit and cargo vehicles used for transporting passengers. On directions from the City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), K. Thondiraj, and the traffic police conducted checks on Tuesday and Wednesday. They booked of cases against 56 vehicles and a sum of Rs 28,000 was collected as fine.
