MALAPPURAM: The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) will hold mass conclaves at seven centres in the district on August 15 with the message of “guarding our independence.” It will mark the culmination of a campaign against the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal to be conducted by the party from August 10, Sunday. The AIYF will take out a vehicle jatha across the district from Sunday to Wednesday to expose the “double-standards” of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on the nuclear deal. The jatha will also highlight the IUML’s “attempts to effect communal polarisation” on the school textbook issue. AIYF district secretary P.P. Lenin Das will captain the jatha. Minister for Agriculture Mullakara Ratnakaran will inaugurate the campaign at Veliyankode on Sunday.
