KADAPA: Unrest is growing among farmers in the State due to drought conditions, shortage of fertilizers and seeds and rampant power cuts but Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is indifferent, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged on Friday. Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Ministers in the State were claiming abundant availability of fertilizers, but farmers were waging struggles in various parts of the State demanding fertilizers supply and when questioned, Ministers were resorting to counter-attack, he alleged at a press conference at Vellala in Rajupalem mandal as part of his `Mee Kosam’ yatra in Kadapa district. The Government was lackadaisical although women farmers were fainting in queues after waiting for hours together for fertilizers, he alleged. The Chief Minister was unconcerned at the spate of farmers’ suicides in the State, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu alleged and said it was unfortunate that a farmers’ family ended life in Kadapa district. Mr. Naidu addressed meetings at Verapala, Dommaranandyal, Moragudi and Jammalamadugu during his ‘Mee Kosam’ yatra in Kadapa district on Thursday night.
