Ban rally, says VHP

MADURAI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for a ban on the proposed rally, ‘freedom parade,’ announced by Popular Front of India of Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNP) for August 15.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Chinmaya Somasundaram, president, VHP, Madurai district unit, said that parades on Independence Day are organised only by the respective State Governments and their institutions and for any outfit to organise a parade is against the convention.

Hence, the parade should be banned.
