Mock fire fighting demonstration conducted at National College

Life skill: Fire fighting demonstration on at National College in Tiruchi.

TIRUCHI: A fire fighting demonstration was conducted by the Fire and Rescue Services Department at the National College here on Thursday. A team of fire fighters demonstrated various techniques - to put out fire, ways to escape during fire accident and ways to rescue persons from a building during times of emergency.

The fire fighters also demonstrated the ways to use materials available in the house to check the spread of fire and to put it out and the ways to provide immediate first aid to those affected by burns.

The nearly two-hour long demonstration, organised by 2 Company 2 TN Battalion NCC, Tiruchi, was conducted to create awareness among students about the fire fighting techniques. College Secretary K. Ragunathan, Principal K. Anbarasu and Commanding Officer 2 TN Battalion NCC, Tiruchi Colonel K. Ashokan witnessed it.
