Rangasamy asked to convene CLP meeting

NEW DELHI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has asked Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to convene a meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Wednesday (August 13).
Mr. Rangasamy, who rushed here on Thursday night following a call from AICC general secretary Vayalar Ravi, on Friday explained his position to Mr. Ravi and Arun Kumar, in-charge of party affair in Puducherry. He is said to have complained to them that his Cabinet colleagues were not cooperating with him and refusing to attend Cabinet meetings.
The Chief Minister returned to Puducherry on Friday evening.
As many as 10 MLAs, including five Ministers, are seeking removal of Mr. Rangasamy, alleging he was not implementing poll promises.
