Rs. 8 lakh looted from bank employees

ADILABAD: In a daylight robbery, miscreants attacked and snatched away a cash bag containing Rs. 8 lakh from the possession of two employees of Deccan Grameena Bank on Friday under Easgaon police station limits in Kagaznagar mandal.
The motorcycle riding assailants were said to be armed with a short weapon and escaped towards Penchikalpet in Bejjur mandal .
According to officials of the bank, cashier Venkataiah and messenger Sattaiah of the Rashpalli branch of DGB, were returning on their motorbike after withdrawing cash from SBH Kagaznagar branch.
The masked robbers came from behind and beat up the two employees while threatening them with the pistol. The motorcycle was found abandoned about 15 km from the scene of offence.
