Both states will develop special packages MoU to be signed with Puducherry Tourism Board BHUBANESWAR: Orissa and Rajasthan, both favourite destinations for the tourists for their unique arts, crafts and culture, have agreed to share their expertise and experiences to boost tourism in their respective States. Addressing a joint press conference here on Saturday, State Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and his Rajasthan counterpart Usha Punia revealed that both of them had a high-level meeting earlier on the day to discuss various options to have collaboration between the two tourist-friendly states to explore tourism potentials. An MoU would soon be signed between the two governments, they added. As per the understanding, both tourism departments of both the states would develop and exchange special packages for the tourists that would benefit both the state-holders. While Orissa would showcase artists and crafts persons of Rajasthan in its various government sponsored fairs and festivals, Rajasthan would offer similar cooperation to promote Orissa craft and culture through its annual festivals, it was learnt. Orissa’s Tourism Commissioner Parag Gupta and his Rajashtan counterpart Usha Sharma, who is also the managing director of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, were present in the conference. A similar meeting between the governments of Orissa and Puducherry was also held during the day, Mr. Mishra said. An MoU would be signed between the Orissa Tourism Development Corporation and Puducherry Tourism Development Board to share mutual interests, he added.
