Regatta in regal splendour

Just one aim: (clockwise from top) The boats strutted their stuff in a mass drill and a procession; and then it was action as usual — a race that drew from every reserve of strength, oars, in a rhythmic fast clip, exploring the depths of the Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha on Saturday, for taking home the coveted Nehru Trophy; crowds cheered their favourite team from either bank; Union Minister for Power Sushilkumar Shinde flagged off the race. Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran and Sports Minister M. Vijayakumar were present.
