SHIMOGA: State BJP General Secretary Santosh said on Saturday that terrorism could not be contained by the Government alone. People should join hands with the Government to put an end to the menace. Inaugurating an “Anti-terrorism” conference organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha at the Ambedkar Bhavan here, he said that the situation had worsened now with terrorists not only preparing bombs, but also exploding them with impunity. Stating that some educational institutions had become centres for naxal and terrorist activities, he said that the youth should come together to meet the challenges posed by terrorism. Referring to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in the U.S., he said that there was no such attack in that country since then. This was because of the determined efforts by that the U.S. Government to crush terrorism. “But there is a marked slackness in the security arrangements to curb terrorism in India,” he said.
