Focus on healthcare: Harikrishna Panaje of SDP Remedies and Research Centre, inaugurating a CME programme at the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Ayurveda in Hassan on Saturday. HASSAN: Harikrishna Panaje of SDP Remedies and Research Centre, Puttur, on Saturday lauded the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Ayurveda for conducting continuing medical education (CME) programmes regularly. He was inaugurating the CME programme on “Common respiratory disorders” at the college here. Mr. Panaje said that such programmes would help young doctors as well students to update their knowledge. The programme was organised by the postgraduate students of the Paediatrics (Kaumarabhritya) Department, the Old Student’s Association and the centre. Director for postgraduate courses Gurudeep Singh said that treatment for common respiratory disorders in Ayurveda was simple, safe and effective. In his presidential remarks, principal of the college Prasanna Rao said that incidence of respiratory disorders was on the rise because of increasing pollution. He hoped that the CME programme would help junior doctors to gain knowledge and treat patients effectively. Aziz Ahmed Arbar of the Department of Kaumarabhritya, KLE’s Ayurveda College, Belgaum, and Shailaja, Head of the PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, welcomed. Prakash L. Hegde, head of the Department of Dravyaguna, proposed a vote of thanks.
