Tribals assured all help

ADILABAD: M. Mallikarjun Naik, Project Officer of Utnoor’s Integrated Tribal Development Officer on Saturday assured funds for construction of the proposed Girijan Bhavan in Adilabad. He also assured all possible help for uplift of tribals.

He was addressing a meet organised by different tribal organisations in connection with the World Tribal Day. He said pursuing an objective of betterment of tribals, the State has planned to accord rights to tribals who till forest land. Rights will be given on 2 lakh acres by the month-end.

Protest

Some of the organisations belonging to primitive tribals like the Adivasi Hakkula Porata , walked out of the meeting. They charged that non-primitive tribals are hijacking the agenda of the programme. They accused the Project Officer of ignoring the primitive tribals as he left without listening to their problems.
