KOCHI: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasir Maudany has said that an anti-imperialism coalition will be formed by bringing together individuals and organisations that oppose the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal. At a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Maudany, however, said that this was not a political coalition mooted for the Lok Sabha elections. “This is meant as a platform for anti-imperialistic forces, especially those against the nuclear deal,” he said. Mr. Maudany said that the PDP would hold an anti-nuclear-deal rally and meeting at Muthalakkulam Maidan in Kozhikode on August 15, followed by a meeting at Ponnani on August 19. Besides, a door-to-door campaign against the deal would be held in all 140 Assembly constituencies from November 1 to December 6. He said a majority of the party activists who attended the study camp held at Malappuram recently were for the PDP contesting from Ponnani in the Lok Sabha elections.
