Police to train forest watchers

CHENNAI: The police will train watchers of the Forest Department in handling arms. The training is expected to begin next week. The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the Forest and Police Departments, said K.Vijaykumar, Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order). Those working in the western region, that includes Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Udhagamandalam, will undergo training at the Special Task Force’s training centre at Mangalappatti in Erode.
