Nuance showcases caller authentic solutions ‘System adopted by banks can be strengthened’ Bangalore: Nuance Communications Inc. on Friday showcased its caller authentic solutions such as voice biometrics which offer higher levels of security for caller identification and voice verification for telephone-based transactions. The company introduced the solutions to various representatives of banks during a workshop organised on “Speech recognition and voice biometrics” in Bangalore. Charles Buffum, vice-president, Caller Authentic Solutions for Nuance, said that weak security practices in the existing caller authentication system adopted by banks could be strengthened through voice biometric system. Mr. Buffum said the company voice biometric solutions could not be lost or stolen and they did not require private information to establish the identity of customers. They did not require special biometric readers, he said and added that the software was independent of language. According to him, the voice biometric system reduced the time required for authentication process when compared with the existing methods and this would help save money for the customers and banks. C. Mohan Ram, Managing Director of Lattice Bridge, Nuance’s local speech solution partner, explained the use of the latest technology to the representatives of banks.
