Award for 10 scientists

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology on Friday announced Tamil Nadu Scientist Awards- 2007 for 10 scientists, who contributed significantly to their specialisation through pioneering and outstanding applied research and other activities.
They are K.S. Subramanian (Agricultural Sciences), Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore; V. Murugan (Biological Scicences), Anna University-Chennai; M. Kandaswamy (Chemical Sciences), the University of Madras, Guindy Campus; J. Raghava Rao (Engineering and Technology), Chemical Laboratory, Central Leather Research Institute, Adayar; P. Lakshmanaperumalsamy (Environmental Sciences) Bharathiar University, Coimbatore; Mohan Kameswaran (Medical Sciences), Madras ENT Research Foundation; Mary Babu (Medical Sciences), CLRI-TICEL Bio Park, Taramani; C.S. Sundar (Physical Sciences), IGCAR, Kalpakkam; G. Sarathchandra (Veterinary Sciences), Directorate of Centre for Animal Health Studies, Madhavaram; and Xavier Alphonse (Social Sciences), Indian Centre for Research and Development of Community Education, Chennai.
