Hooda inspects flooded areas

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday ordered a special girdawari to assess the crop damage, due to recent heavy rains, besides a house loss survey to appropriately compensate the victims. He also announced a compensation of Rs.2 lakh to the dependents of the mother and son who died in the house collapse at Shastri Nagar in Bhiwani during the rains.

Mr. Hooda also visited the flood-affected areas of Bhiwani city and had an aerial view of the flooded areas of Bhiwani and the nearby villages. He assured that the accumulated water would be drained out within the next three days from rural as well as urban areas.

Mr. Hooda said officials had been directed to complete the projects for solving the sewerage problem of Bhiwani permanently. The Bhiwani-Ghaggar Drain would be completed in the next six months.
