Naming airport after Bhagat Singh a matter of pride: Hooda

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Saturday that Haryana supported the naming of the international airport in Chandigarh as Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.
Talking to the media after inaugurating Advanced Hernia Surgery Centre and Advanced Piles Surgery Centre of Diwan Hospital at Ludhiana in Punjab, he said it was a matter of pride that the “International Airport of Chandigarh was named after the great martyr Bhagat Singh.”
According to an official release issued here, Mr. Hooda said he had never objected to or opposed the naming of the Chandigarh airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
On setting up a separate Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee for Haryana, he said the committee constituted under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha had been asked to submit its report within 15 days. Any decision would be taken after analysing the the report, he said.
