Manual for first time mothers released

CHANDIGARH: In an effort to help first-time mothers take care of themselves and the newborn, Avinash Rana, Nursing lecturer at the National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMR released a manual ‘Garbhavastha mein aam beemarion ka gharelu ilaaz aur navjaat shishu ki dekhbhaal’ (home remedies for common ailments during pregnancy and care of the newborn).
The panel of doctors present emphasised on the need to educate women about pregnancy as they face many problems during first pregnancy. Women need guidance about labour, post-partum and neonatal care, diet, rest, precautions, recognising labour pains and hydration during labour.
