MEG crosses first hurdle

NEW DELHI: MEG (Bangalore) defeated Indian National Club 2-0 in the first qualifying round match of the Osian 121st Durand Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.

Ajay Raj and Geberiet were the scorers.

In the second match, Lucknow’s 11 GR bounced back from a one-goal deficit to crush Ahbab Club 5-1. After Yadav put the local team ahead, the Lucknow side scored through Bijoy, Rakesh (two each) and Gurung. — Special Correspondent
