The major catch was Prasanna Pal of Ersama area in Jagatsinghpur district, who was believed to be one of the 12 core committee members of “Ropeway Operation”, the mobile attack on Nayagarh district headquarter police in February this year. He was also the member of State Committee of which dreaded naxalite leader Sabyasachi Panda was the secretary, police sources said. During questioning, Prasanna Pal had disclosed that he had led the group that attacked on police training centre at Nayagarh. Pal otherwise known as Sekhar was drafted into MCC cadres that was active in Jharkhand in 1992, police sources said. It further added that the prominent naxalite leader had taken part in the crucial meeting for Nayagarh attack at Gaya in November 2006. Police sources said four members of the Orissa State committee had been arrested so far. Besides, Ranjan Rout from Jagatsinghpur district, another naxalite emerging leader, was arrested by police.
