Staff Reporter

Resolution passed at an emergency meeting

A resolution passed at an emergency meeting of the Club pointed out that the act of the police in filing a First Information Report listing charges including criminal trespass, holding out a threat of murder and use of foul and offensive language on the basis of a complaint that was given by an employee of the coach building unit as a crude attempt to throttle the voice of the media.

Claiming that the media personnel who went to cover a fire at the bus coach building unit here on Friday were threatened in fact by those at the unit, the members called upon the authorities to book the real culprits.

The meeting also adopted a resolution condemning foisting of cases even against those who were not present at the scene of activity.
