Machinery failed: BJP

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday demanded measures on war-footing to meet the emergency situation created by continuous rain and floods in the city.

In a joint statement, State president Bandaru Dattatreya, and city president Ch. Ramachandra Reddy criticised the “inaction of the administration” in finding solutions to problems pertaining to traffic, water scarcity, power cuts, sewerage, and flooding in the city.

The BJP leaders also demanded ex gratia to the tune of Rs.5 lakhs for those who died in the floods, and a job for one from each affected household.
