We leave it to DMK, says Varadarajan
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: CPI (M) State secretary N. Varadarajan on Saturday said the Left parties would not have any truck with parties that were in alliance with Congress.
Asked about the CPI (M)’s attitude towards the ruling DMK in the State, Mr Varadarajan said the DMK would have to decide whether it wanted to continue the alliance with the Congress.
“We leave it to the DMK,” he said while talking to reporters at Balan Illam, the headquarters of the State unit of the CPI.
He visited the CPI office to discuss the all India strike call given by the central trade unions against the price rise, privatisation of pension scheme and various labour issues.
CPI state secretary D. Pandian said the two parties would jointly take all political decisions.
“The administrative committee of the party will meet on August 25. We will discuss the political developments,” he added.
