BELGAUM: Four persons were killed and three injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus collided with a car on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway at Dombarakoppa near Kittur in Belgaum district on Saturday. The police have identified the dead as Rajaram Khade (60), Anagha Joshi (48), Anusha Joshi (19) and driver of the car Prafull Inamdar, all residents of Ichalakarani in Maharasthra. The injured, Kedar Joshi and Shruti Joshi, who were in the car, and Irappa Kademani (50) of Kittur, who runs a petty shop on the roadside, have been admitted to KLE Hospital in Belgaum. According to eyewitnesses, the bus collided with the car when it took a right turn instead of left (service road) to go to Kittur bus stand. After colliding with the car, the bus rammed the petty shop, they said. Following the accident, residents of the area staged a protest. They withdrew the protest after senior police officials intervened.
