VIZIANAGARAM: Teachers and government employees in the State wish to see Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister once again in the elections next year as he has been responding amicably to their demands, B. Mohan Reddy, MLC and vice-chairman of All-India Federation of Teachers’ Organisations has said. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy, who was here to participate in the meeting organised by the Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union (PRTU), said that the Chief Minister, even before the employees demanded for PRC, had announced it and appointed C.S. Rao as chairman immediately after duration of the 8th PRC expired on June 30 this year. He, however, demanded payment of interim relief at 40 per cent from July 1. On ‘ success’ programme, he said that the Centre would release Rs.6,500 crores in three phases to start the programme in 6,500 schools in the State and appealed to Chief Minister to include State syllabus in the CBSE one for perception among students on State-related topics. Stating that the major demand of teachers for uniform service rules that would hopefully materialise by the end of this month, Mr. Reddy said due to lack of uniform rules over 60,000 vacant teacher posts were unfilled.
