11 engineers warned of suspension APSHC told to conduct bankers meetings Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi ordered that show-cause notices be issued to one divisional engineer (of Rampachodavaram) and 10 assistant engineers of the Housing Department (Addateegala, I.Polavaram, Karapa, Katrenikona, Kirlampudi, Kotananduru, Rajavommangi, Sakhinetipalli, Tallarevu and Yeleswaram) for their failure to achieve progress in the construction of houses under Indiramma scheme. These 11 engineers were warned of suspension in the event of their inability to set things right in a week. Addressing a review meeting on Indiramma housing at the Bennet Club here on Sunday, Mr. Dwivedi said steps should be taken to complete the documentation for bridge loans in respect of 27,000 houses (both phases I and II) that are at the roof level before August 20 and to get total Rs. 50 crore sanctioned by the same date so as to disburse the amounts during the Chief Minister’s tour. Disciplinary action
He suggested that each one of the 256 bank branches in the district has to sanction 100 bridge loans to cover the targets. The Collector ordered the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation (APSHC) district manager to conduct bankers meetings at Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Peddapuram, Samalkot and Mandapeta to pave the way for grounding of housing units at the earliest. A 34 acre layout at Rajahmundry allotted for Indiramma houses has to be developed into a model one by providing infrastructure like parking lots, commercial complex and even schools. Mr. Dwivedi sought explanation why grounding of construction of houses was getting delayed though land acquisition and issue of possession certificates were completed on time. Negative impactEfforts have to be made to improve the situation lest the district’s rank falls further having a negative impact on the entire scheme. In such a case, disciplinary action would be taken against the derelict officials and staff of the departments concerned. Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation district manager K. Satyanarayana and others participated in the meeting.
