KATTAPPANA: The All-India Students Federation (AISF) has demanded strong action against unrecognised schools in the State. A resolution adopted at the two-day AISF state study camp, which concluded here on Sunday, noted that nearly 200 unrecognised schools function in the State and the issue was highlighted in the Sukumara Pillai Commission report. These schools create a student community which has no social responsibility, it added. “Unrecognised schools destroy the traditional educational system in the State and un-aided sector should be controlled,” said the resolution and added that such schools collect high fees from students and government has no control over them. The basic qualification required for teaching staff and norms regarding admission of students are found to be breached by these schools, it said. Nearly 175 members from various parts of the State attended the camp.
