Man held for ‘killing’ wife, paramour

NEW DELHI: A young man has been arrested on charges of murdering his wife and her paramour at Dabri here this past month.

Ram Dev Yadav (28) and his wife Geeta (25) had been staying in a rented house along with their two children at Dabri for the past two years. When Geeta fell ill recently, their neighbour Jitender looked after her in the hospital and also shared the expenses incurred on her treatment. This brought Geeta and Jitender close and Ram Dev suspected them of having an illicit relation. On July 29, Ram Dev caught them together on his return home.

It led to an argument between Ram Dev and Geeta and he allegedly gagged her and smothered her to death. He then killed Jitender in the similar manner and hanged him with a “chunni” to make it appear a case of suicide.

But Ram Dev’s five-year-old son Vicky, an eyewitness, spilled the beans during trauma counselling.
