PDS rice seized

NAMAKKAL: Supply officials seized 150 bags of rice meant for supply under public distribution system here on Saturday. The officials conducted a vehicle check at Paramathi Velur and intercepted a lorry carrying 150 bags of PDS rice. On inquiry, it was found that the rice was being smuggled from Kangayam to a poultry farm in Namakkal. The team also found three lorries, which were being operated using PDS kerosene as fuel, and detained the vehicles.
