Kodachadri trek
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Wanderers, the outdoor adventure club, is organising a two-day trek to Kodachadri from August 15. The peak is the highest in Shimoga district and is spread across varied terrain, culminating in a stunning view at more than 1,300 metres in height.
It is situated in the middle of the Mookambika National Park and is home to several endemic and endangered species of flora and fauna. The peak also holds religious importance as it is believed that Adi Sankara meditated at this peak. Hence, a temple or “Sarvajna Peetha” was built at the top. The view of the sunrise and sunset from the peak is considered to be something which should not be missed.
Interested persons can contact The Wanderers on or before Wednesday by calling Ph: 9845577216 or emailing thewanderers@gmail.com.
