KADAPA: Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Dr. Anil Kakodkar and Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) Chairman and Managing Director Ramender Gupta inspected mining operations for excavation of radioactive ore at the uranium mine and mill established with an outlay of Rs. 1,106.40 crores at Mabbuchinthalapalle in Vemula mandal on Sunday. Dr. Kakodkar performed bhoomi pooja for construction of the water purification and ventilation systems at the uranium plant. Dr. Kakodkar and Mr. Ramender Gupta went round the plant premises and inspected the ongoing works. They discussed with UCIL Thummalapalle unit Plant Manager Dorai on uranium mining in the area. Mr. Kakodkar declined comment on the Indo-US nuclear deal.
