Three held on attempt to murder charge
PERAMBALUR: Three persons, including a father and his son, were arrested on a charge of attempt to murder a revenue official while checking a lorry allegedly used for illicit transit of gravel from a stone quarry here on Saturday.
Police said the incident happened when tahsildar Radhakrishnan intercepted the lorry after a chase for some distance.
As he was enquiring with the driver, T. Azhagar, the lorry owner, and his son A. Selvakumar came to the spot by a car and allegedly attempted to attack him with sticks. The official managed to escape. — Staff Reporter
