Karunanidhi distributes aid

CHENNAI: The Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi distributed Rs. 3.2 lakh as medical and educational aid to 32 persons from weaker sections of the society, here on Sunday.

This aid was given by Kalaignar Karunanidhi Trust, established by the Chief Minister using his personal funds.

The trust operates on the interest accrued from a fund of Rs. 5 crore. So far, Rs. 92,65,000 has been disbursed to the poor as financial aid. — Staff Reporter
