Rout claims Kelly Rao Trophy

HYDERABAD: B.K. Rout of AYN (EME) was adjudged winner of the Kelly Rao Trophy (given to the overall winner without discard) in the Laser standard category of the Laser sailing championship, which concluded here on Saturday.

The chief guest at the closing ceremony was Pallam Raju, Minister of State for Defence. Lt. Gen. K.S. Venugopal, AVSM, ADC, President of the LCAI and other dignitaries were also present. The minister presented the prizes to the winners.

The following were the prize winners in various categories: Laser 4.7: Girls: 1. Shweta Sadanandan (TNSA), 2. Ayesha Lobo (RBYC), 3. Sidra Sabir (NSS). Boys: 1. Xerxes Bamboat (RBYC), 2. Sarav Rajavelu (TNSA), 3. Aman Mohan Vyas (NSS).

Laser radial youth: U-19: 1. Mrinalini (TNSA), 2. Xerxes Bamboat (RBYC), 3. Sachin Singha (NSS).

Laser Radial: Women: 1. Mrinalini Santhanam (TNSA), 2. Aparya Mahule (NSS), 3. Ayesha Lobo (RBYC). Men: 1. Gajender Singh (AYN-EME), 2. Parvinder Singh (AYN-EME), 3. Sukhvir Singh (AYN Engrs).

Overall: 1. Gajender Singh (AYN-EME). Laser Std. Youth: U-21: 1. Sandeep Gajula (SSC), 2. Advait Deodhar (RBYC), 3. Bikram Mahapatra (EMESC). Laser Std. Apprentice Master: 1. Rajesh Choudhary (AYN-EME), 2. Ram Kumar Singh (AYN Engrs), 2. V. Hari Hara (AYN Engrs).
