Bob Cunis dead
WELLINGTON: Bob Cunis, who played 20 Tests for New Zealand as a fast bowler and later coached his national team, died on Saturday aged 67.
The cause of his death was not immediately available.
Cunis was a stocky and big-hearted fast bowler who took 51 wickets at an average of 37 in a Test career that stretched from 1964 to 1972. He claimed only one five-wicket bag but was frequently the workhorse of the New Zealand bowling attack.
Cunis claimed 386 wickets in a 17-year first-class career and went on to coach New Zealand from 1987 to 1990. — AP
