Social service can be called as such, in the true sense of the term, only if it was done by entire public support and did not depend upon government doles. Whether one is rich or poor, it was the richness of the heart that was required for purposes of public charity. These observations were made by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, President of the Indian Union, when he declared open on August 8, the Rashtrapathi Block at the Cancer Institute (W.I.A.), Adyar.
