GUNTUR: Acharya Nagarjuna University will soon have a new building for the National Service Scheme activities on the campus for which works would be launched on August 13, soon after approval was got from Vice-Chancellor Y.R. Haragopala Reddy. At meeting with the CPWD engineers, the Vice-Chancellor asked them to speed up the construction activity on various other buildings. A new power transformer would be installed for the sports hostel, indoor stadium, canteen, online counselling centre, student centre and Vikasa Bhavan. The SFI has asked the Vice-Chancellor to talk to Government officials and arrange for awareness on online application for the scholarship to be granted by the Government and extend the last date for application by at least one month from August 18. All admissions into PG courses on the Acharya Nagarjuna University College will be closed on August 16, according to Principal T. Nirmala Mary. Anyone desirous of cancelling their admission could do so on or before Saturday. The Chiranjeevi Students’ Federation proposes to give scholarship to students securing more than 80 per cent marks in their degree examination. A function has been arranged on the campus on Tuesday at 10 a.m., according to a release of the federation.
