KOLLAM: The Kerala Cashew Workers Congress (KCWC) has demanded a bonus advance of Rs.5,000 to cashew workers. There was no increase in bonus in the past 15 years, KCWC general secretary K.R.V. Sahajan said in a release here on Monday. The cost of living had gone up. Also, the price of cashew kernels touched an all-time high in the international markets thereby resulting in big profits to both the private and public sector units, he said. Therefore, demand for increased bonus is by all means justified, Mr. Sahajan said. — Staff Reporter
