Indore: Jailed leaders of the banned SIMI, including its chief Safdar Nagori, were shifted to different jails of the state from Indore as advised by intelligence agencies. Nagori and Mohammad Saleem were shifted to Rewa Jail, while Abdul Razzaq and Akbar Baig were transferred to Shahdol jail of the state under tight security, official sources said on Monday. Similarly, another SIMI activist Sheikh Mumtaz was shifted to Satna jail, they said. The jail authorities on the basis of intelligence reports have ordered to keep the arrested SIMI leaders in different jails as presently it is not advisable to keep them in one jail. After shifting of the five SIMI leaders, nearly 15 more activists of the banned organisation were there in Indore jail and soon they, too, would be shifted to other jails in the state, the sources said. It can be recalled here that 13 SIMI leaders including Nagori were arrested from a hideout in Indore on March 27 and since then they were jailed under judicial custody. – PTI
