Rivers in spate in Uttara Kannada

SIRSI: Heavy rain accompanied by storm is lashing Uttara Kannada district since Friday. Rivers such as the Kali, Gangavali, Aghanashini and the Varada and their tributaries are overflowing following incessant rain. As many as 30 families in Ingala Kurve Island in Ankola taluk have been asked to move to makeshift camps, by the administration. In Sirsi taluk, the Rangapur tank bund in Badangod Gram Panchayat limits has breached. The water has submerged about 50 acres of paddy fields.
