Vakilara Mithra launched

BANGALORE: Vakilara Mithra, a Kannada monthly magazine, was launched here on Monday by Bangalore Advocates Literary Union. Manu Baligar, Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, who launched the magazine, said the magazine should draw attention of the readers towards declining trend of free-speech and criticism, and the reasons for the decline. He said: “The magazine should become a platform to initiate discussions on the verdict of the Supreme Court within the sphere of the Constitution.”

Ramesh Babu, president of Bangalore Advocates Literary Union, and S. Nagaraj, former President of the union, were present. — Staff Reporter
