KARIMNAGAR: A belt-shop owner of Eradapalli village in Kesavapatnam mandal, who was arrested on the charges of illegal transportation of liquor, was found dead allegedly in the excise police station lock-up in Husnabad town on Monday morning. Police sources said that the deceased Nagula Ravinder Goud (27), who was running a belt shop in Eradapalli village, was nabbed by the excise route-watching constable when he was returning from Karimnagar town along with 76 bottles of liquor at Alugunur village outskirts on Sunday evening. The excise constable seized the liquor bottles and handed over the accused to the Husnabad excise police station. On Monday morning, Ravinder Goud was reportedly found hanging to the ceiling in the station lock-up. The excise police said that the accused committed suicide in their station by hanging himself from the ceiling. The relatives of the victim alleged that the excise police personnel had torched him to death. They charged the excise police of colluding with the local liquor shop owners and targeted Ravinder Goud for procuring liquor bottles from Karimnagar town.
