56,000 teachers likely to be recruited

HYDERABAD: A whopping 56, 658 teacher posts will be filled in the State shortly if the projected requirement sent by the Education Department is approved by the Finance Department.

Of this, 14,000 are School Assistant posts with B.Ed qualification, about 33,000 Secondary Grade teachers, 4,000 physical education and 2,000 other category teachers such as pundits.

It would meet the requirement for core subject teachers for 6,500 SUCCESS schools -- where upper primary schools are merged with nearest high schools with a parallel stream of CBSE with English medium -- plus teachers required for SUCCESS schools.
