Golfers have a busy schedule

CHENNAI: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has announced five back-to-back tournaments to be held from August 20 in Coimbatore, Chennai, Pune and Gurgaon.

The first tournament is the PGTI Players Championship at Coimbatore Golf Club from August 20 to 23, followed by the Tamil Nadu Open at Madras Gymkhana Club from August 27 to 30. The Pune event will be held at the Poona Golf Club from September 2 to 5.

Gurgaon plays host to two tournaments — the AIS Open at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club from September 10 to 13 and the DLF Masters at the DLF Golf and Country Club from September 18 to 21.

The two PGTI Players Championships, in Coimbatore and Pune, and the AIS Open, will carry a prize-money of Rs. 30 lakh each, while the Tamil Nadu Open will have a Rs. 20 lakh purse. — Sports Reporter
